    1. [VABEDFOR] Nancy Williams b abt.1774
    2. In the 1850 census for Franklin Co. va. the household of Smith Williams includes Nancy aged 76. Since no other surname was given for Nancy I am working on the assumption ( I know, bad word) that Nancy could have been his mother or grandmother. Smith was given to be 32 years of age at the time so if Nancy was his mother she would have been approx 43 at the time of his birth. Supposing she was his grandmother.......does anyone have a Williams who married Nancy ( ? ) 1790-1800 Ron

    3. I have no connection to WIlliams but I do have an interest in DNA testing. Therefore, I have met the person that runs this site and knows his commitment to this surname: http://williams.genealogy.fm/ There are 165 unique families which consist of 340 people who have had their DNA tested. On this site there are also: forums, reunions, Williams lines, documents and more. Hope this helps, Patty Researching: Arthur, Bruce, Perrow, Wilburn, Davenport, and more [email protected] wrote: In the 1850 census for Franklin Co. va. the household of Smith Williams includes Nancy aged 76. 3. A marriage bond posted in Franklin Co. by Jonathan Williamson for himself and Nancy Jackson. Marriage return by J. M. Nov. 7 1797. This is the only information I could find at home with a Nancy in the time period and in Franklin Co. but the name was read as "Williamson" which I think doesn't rule it out as being Williams. Be aware that Franklin didn't come into functioning existence until 1786 and was formed from Bedford and Henry counties. This came from Anne Lowry Worrell, "Over The Mountain Men Their Early Court Records IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA", originally published Hillsville,, VA 1934, reprint 1996 Genealogical Publ. Co., page 22.
