This is all FUN, and another reason is that once a particular county & environs was pretty well "bought up" by earlier folks, the youngsters looked "West" to find new land, and usually cheaper. Consider too, a Father who had land enough to leave by will to 8 sons or so, left the sons without enough land to make each one the kind of living they dreamed of. So on it goes.
