HI: Coming from acorss the nation, we attempted to find some nearby overnite accomodations for the Bedford County genealogical affair last year, but no one could help - except to suggest accomodations near the Peaks - too far. How far is Lynchburg and do you know of any motels-hotels there? Hope you can help me. I need accomodations for two persons - one room - close to a cafe would be super. When we were there this Spring we stayed at the Natural Bridge Hotel. Great place with a fairly decent restaurant downstairs and it is about 45 minutes away from Bedford. Click on : http://www.naturalbridgeva.com/ Be sure and go to the Natural bridge and find George Washington's initials. The bridge itself is awesome. Hey Jackie, I don't know a great deal about Bedford, but there are quite a few motels in Lynchburg which is on 460 about 25 to 30 miles east. And there is Roanoke, west on 460. There are a bunch of motels there. Roanoke is also about 25 to 30 miles from Bedford. Where are you coming from? I live in Virginia Beach, VA. and I'm thinking about going. I've been to Bedford several time, I use to live in Roanoke and I was born in Lynchburg. BTY, there is a Super 8 on 460 just out side of Bedford. There's also a Golden Corral next door. I stayed at the Super 8 and it was awesome. Good prices, nice people, and was very clean.
