In reference to my posting of the list of men in the Battle of Point Pleasant: I'm told by Carolyn that Col. William Fleming survived the battle though gravely wounded. I suspect there are several errors in the list. I have read that about 75 men died but the lists I have seen never add up to that number. So take all these old publications with a grain of salt. Mary Kegley's Lists are missing - re: David Looney's Co and a few others that have many men from Maryland living North of the Holston who served in the Fincastle Co VA Militia. I suspect there will always be other lists out here. Too bad the Draper manuscripts have not been published in their entirely - not just a catalog. It would go very far in reconstructing this most important area and time of the development of our country.
