Hello Helen - My John Gray 1785-1855 was married in Monroe Co., VA(WV) Sep 1816 and came to Ohio with his wife Susanna Thompson and her family before 1820. There is a large family of Gray's in the Monroe/Greenbrier area and he may belong to them, but when I visited the area a couple of years ago I found nothing that connected. I have the large genealogy on that family and there are a lot of John Gray's but they are all accounted for and none match my man exactly. There was a George Gray who came from Botetourt to Greenbrier before my John was born and because the name George is strong in our family he may be the man I am looking for. This George was married to Mary Davis or Davies, but I cannot find the names of his children anywhere. There is a John Gray and a Mary Davis in Australia but they are not the right couple. When I visit VA this summer I will be looking for a baptism, Family Bible, will, estate record, etc., for this George. I have been tracking the The Bedford Co. Gray's for some time, but nothing connects there yet. I will be looking mostly for Burgandine's in Bedford and Montgomery Counties. My husband's family goes back to Thomas Gray born 1595 in England and Margaret Annis born 1599 in England. There are a lot of William's , John's in the family. The Gray family is so large that I would not be able to send it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Gray" <revjgray@wowway.com> To: <vabedfor@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 03, 2008 5:35 PM Subject: Re: [VABEDFOR] Old books on Google > Hello Helen - > > My John Gray 1785-1855 was married in Monroe Co., VA(WV) Sep 1816 and > came to Ohio with his wife Susanna Thompson and her family before > 1820.
