    2. John Gray
    3. Hi Linda - This John Gray in Bedford Co. is interesting to me because he fits the profile of my John whom I believe was previously married before his marriage to Susanna Thompson in 1816 in Monroe Co.. However, I have absolutely no evidence he was ever married before, but since he was about age 31 when he m. Susanna, it seems logical to me he was married previously and his wife died or they were divorced. I am descended from John's last wife - Julia Ann Sherman. Susanna d. in the 1830's here in Union Co., OH where they lived all their lives. I have been tracking the Bedford Gray family for years. This John Gray who m. Amy Crews was b. ca 1785 (same as my John) and d. bef Aug 1833 in Bedford Co. (22 years before my John d. in Union Co., OH.) Your John's father was William Gray. There are no William Gray's in my line as far back as I can go, which would be unusual if there was a direct descendant named William among the ancestors. The given name George appears several times in my John's family, either as a first name or middle name (4 times in 2 generations.) There is no indication this John 'Jack' Gray ever left Bedford Co., and I have positive proof of my John's life, death and burial here. I have photographed his grave and have several court records and his dc indicating he came here from VA. He appears in the 1825 tax records here. I have your Jack's children and they are all different from my John's children, all born much earlier than my John's children. I have a few records on your Jack in Bedford Co., generated long after my John came to OH. For example, I have your Jack in the census in Bedford Co., from 1810-1830. I just realized that I have viewed parts of Gayle Blankenship's book several years ago, courtesy of my correspondent LaMona Phillips, who posted data on Rootsweb.com. ('My Waldron Descendants of Virginia.') Thank you for trying to help.. I appreciate it.
