Bedford VA order book 6 has record of many patriots who came forth proving they'd furnished supplies for Rev War. May 27th, 1782 must've been a rough day for the clerk when so many packed into David Wright's home that they appear to have been called upon initially by beginning letter of surname. Page 350 shows 23 surname A-C. Page 351 shows 30 surname D-M. Page 352 shows 23 surname M-W. Pages 353-355 show many claims without the ABC order. On page 355 I find: "John Hook pr'd (proved) that he furnished ye militia of this County on their march to join ye Southern Army 5 empty Barrells & one Hogshead for which he is alowed [sic] 8/9." The clerk rarely put a "period" at the end of a record, this period is definite. Sherrie
