The regiments were splintered and merged and tracking them is a nightmare. The officers were shuttled back and forth. It was total chaos. The 5th Virginia, for example. Some of them were sent north. Others south. Several Va. regiments were captured at Charleston. Others of the same regiments fought up north at Brandywine and Morristown and Trenton, etc. The Virginia officers are listed on pages 7, 8, and 9. Good luck finding an individual enlisted man.
