    3. Lonny (and others with interests in Bedford County), Unlike most other U.S. states, all of the major cities in Virginia are not included as part of the county in which they lie. Lynchburg is between Campbell, Bedford, and Amherst Counties. If you would like to see a map of these counties, then you can take a look at my web page at: http://support.mapguide.com/drema but you will have to have a Viewer to see the maps in Netscape or Internet Explorer. The Viewer can be downloaded for free from http://www.autodesk.com/products/mapguide/vdwnload.htm The first map is a map of Virginia without much detail, but you can select counties and run a report to get a history of when that county was created, and what counties it was created from. If you double click on Bedford our Campbell County, you will pull up a new, more detailed map of those counties. If you zoom into the Bedford County map, you will see roads, rivers, cemeteries, etc. I have big plans for this map in which I plan to solicit help from all those interested in Bedford County genealogy. This summer, I plan on adding links from the cemeteries on the map to a database that will give the person viewing the map a list of the people buried there (and birth and death dates, etc). This will be a pretty big project, but I am well on my way with the maps that I have there now. Excuse the slowness of the maps, I plan to do some work later on that will speed up the performance. Go and have a look! Let me know what you think of my Bedford County Cemetery idea. Drema http://www.wco.com/~drema Lonny J. Watro wrote: > Is Lynchburg in Bedford county? > > Thanks, > Lonny J.
