Vivian, I found this info on a William Mead (in my tree), imported from WFT Vol. 6 Tree #1517. The dates are close and the location is right. Might want to follow this one up. William Mead resided in Bucks County in 1744 when he purchased from Andrew Ellett (who married Hannah Mead of Dublin MM in 1706) in Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County, 220 acres on the Delaware River. (Andrew was an early setttler in Bucks Co., his patent dated Sept 26, 1701.) In 1747 William sold the 220 acres to Hezekiah Anderson, and went to Fairfax County, Va. Granted certificates to Fairfax MM were Elhena Mead and William Mead and wife in 1746, and Ann Mead in 1764 (the last Mead notation at Falls MM). According to one source, he later went to Bedford County, Va and remained seven years, where he had a magnificent estate, "Royal Forest." He returned to the farm called "Greenway" (which has been preserved), 2 miles from Leesburg, Loudoun County, where he died and is buried in the Friend's Burial Ground by his parents near Waterford outside Leesburg, Loudoun Co., Va. His will was dated June 17, 1780, and probated Aug 9, 1784, in Loudoun Co., mentions "beloved wife" and children: MARY BROWN and her sons, WILLIAM, THOMAS and JOSEPH RHODES; HANNAH THOMAS; ANN; MARTHA WRIGHT; ELIZABETH POTTS; WILLIAM MEAD; grandsons; WILLIAM WRIGHT and JOSEPH THOMAS. Executrix: wife. Witnesses: Christopher Greenup, Charles Binns, John Binn s. The Loudoun Co. will of Ellen Worrell Mead, dated Dec. 3 1785, probated Apr 10, 1787, named daughters: HANNAH THOMAS, MARY BROWN, ANN MEAD, MARTHA WRIGHT, ELIZABETH POTTS, to have all the land in Bucks Co., Pa "which fell to me by decease of sister MARTHA BROWN Pa." Executrix: Anne Mead (daughter) and Ezekial Potts (son-in-law). John
