Hi Sabrina, I'm a Candler researcher. I received the following information from Crowder researchers which should encourage you. Contact me if you wish to connect with them. In Bedford Co. in 1802, William Crowder, b.c1770's married Mahaly Candler, b. c1770's (daughter of Zedekiah Candler and Anna Moorman). In 1830, their son Joseph was married in Bedford Co. Your Peter was certainly of the generation of Joseph and may have been a cousin or even brother to Joseph Crowder. Zedekiah and Anna Candler's son Zacheriah moved down to Buncombe Co, NC where he reportedly lived among some Crowders. This is not my primary line but I did have this on file and thought it might help. I would be very interested to know what you find out.
