There seems to have been a migration of families who lived in Amelia County, Virginia to Bedford County, Virginia in the mid- to late 1700's. I am descended from Motleys, Meadors, and Comptons who left Amelia and went to Bedford. Now some of you have said that some Fosters did the same. (My grandmother's parents were Motley and Foster of Bedford). Does anyone know why this migration occurred? Wanda in Virginia.
