In my post last Monday Aug. 23, 1999, I ask for help in regards to information about Mary Susan Markham, who was suppose to have married ? Gilmore. I have received help that is fastly bringing this mystery to a head, and for this I am thankful. When we have finished I will post my findings to the list, as they are quite interesting. I have a snag at one point that I think someone on the list could help me clear up. In the 1860 Virginia Census, Botetourt County, Va., Pam Garrett has listed: Jesse Markham 59 bc. 1801 Va. pg. 326. Wife Mary 50 Va., ch- Solomon 21, Alex 18, Mary W 21, Rebecca 16, Sarah W 14. I know some of this information is incorrect, such as Jesse's age he was born in 1809 Washington Co., Va., but the thing that I need to have checked is the child Mary W 21, whose age is wrong for Mary S. Markham. If someone has the actual census files or tapes for the 1860 Virginia Census, Botetourt County, Va. I would greatly appreciate if they would look up Jesse Markham, and his family and let me know what it actually reads. Many Thanks Tommy Markham
