She was the daughter of Vennie Singleton Carter and Letitia St. Clair - Edith Carter and she married Carl Martin. They lived in Big Spring, Ky. I have only started on the -brothers and sisters of Joel Leftwich and would very much like to find th e Old Joel's parents. He was born in Bedford County Va. in 1779. There is a death certificate for him in Hardinsburg. He died in 1861. There is a connection somewhere with the Leftwichs, Vanmeters and perhaps Singletons. Also a possibility that they went to Tennessee from VA before they came to KY. Does anything look familiar? Would anyone have corrections or additions to this line? If you connect I would very much like to know. Please contact me online at smpender@g-net.net Best Regards, Sheila M. Pendergrast
