    3. Hi all, This past weekend I had the privledge to go to Normandy, France. It was for the Cubscouts and Boy Scouts of America ( The 55th Anniversary of DDay). We cleaned up Omaha Beach, where many of our boys had landed on D-Day. The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts had a Memorial Service and Wreath laying ceremony at the American Cemertery, at Omaha Beach. The area is beautiful!! Anyway in the speach given by an US Army Officer, he was from 7th Corp. HQ in Heidleberg, GE., He mentioned Bedford Co.... He said that "this little town of Bedford Virginia lost eleven of its boys that day". I know I had a Great Uncle that was there. Two of the names I know of are brothers: Bedford T HOBACK PVT in 116 INF 29 DIV Normany and Raymond S. HOBACK SSgt in 116 Inf 29 Div Normandy. Bedford is in area G row 10 grave 28, and Raymond is on the Wall of the Missing. I would like to find out who the others were from Bedford who died there. I plan to go back there and lay flowers at each grave for the families who couldn't. Had I of known I would have asked earlier. I live in Brussels Belgium and plan to go there next year. This trip was a very humbling experience for all of us. I would like to find out who from Bedford Co. Virginia fought also, but were able to come home. Thanks for any help, Jeri Gallus
