And to further complicate matters, the St. Johns, Florida's largest river, which is not far from me, actually does flow north for some 250 miles to the Atlantic Ocean. Check it out. I have no idea why I started out describing Goose Creek backwards. Brain fade, I suppose. Anyway, to one and all, it starts up there in the mountains, near Powell's Gap, and heads south along the same general path described, but in reverse. I guess I just don't know of any rivers in Virginia that flow north... Kathy, were your ancestors Quaker, by any chance? There's a famous Quaker Meeting House on Goose Creek.
