I am doing research on my SLUSSER family. Most of the research is in Montgomery and Botetourt Counties, but it appears that my great-great-grandfather Henry Madison SLUSSER spent several years in Bedford County as well. He and his wife Hannah Jane ZIMMERMAN SLUSSER appear in the 1850 census in Botetourt County. But they seem to have moved to Bedford soon thereafter. Several of their children including my great-grandfather James Madison SLUSSER (b 1853) were born in Bedford -- though I have no documentation on this point. An 1859 deed in Montgomery County lists Henry and Hannah SLUSSER as living in Bedford at that time. I have no 1860 data and don't know when they returned to Botetourt -- the next solid evidence I have for them there is in 1870. Has anyone out there ran across information on Henry Madison SLUSSER, Hannah Jane ZIMMERMAN SLUSSER during that period in Bedford?
