    3. The Bedford City/County historical society has a wonderful set of cemetery books that covers the public cemeteries, church cemeteries and all the family graveyards. I found my two family cemeteries listed and the information gave a person (usually the landowner) to call. Both people were wonderfully helpful. One took me out into the middle of the field and helped me hunt until we found the stones. The other mowed the edge of the field so we could get to the top of the ridge and set the stones back up so it would look better when I got there. I wouldn't have been able to find either without help. The historical Society address and phone is on the Bedford Co. GenWeb page.
