    1. Bedford/Campbell Co. Quaker Records
    2. To all Quaker researchers: What Ed said about Hinshaw's Vol. 6 is true...ALL early marriages from Bedford and Campbell Counties were recorded in this book. My 3rd great grandfather, Henry Harrison Chapman, most of his siblings, as well as many of his cousins were included in this work. This puzzled me until I discovered that my Chapmans were Methodists! My 4th great grandfather, Nathaniel Chapman (1761-1829) even donated some of his land to the Jointee Methodist Church and was buried there. Not something a practicing Quaker would do! A good way to tell if your ancestors were practicing Quakers or not is to check out the Monthly Meeting minutes. A Quaker cousin of mine explained that due to the inclusion of non-Quakers in Hinshaw's Vol. 6, this would be the only way to verify if your forebearers were indeed Quakers. Friends who attended the Monthly Meeting and other meetings (i.e. regional) were recorded in the minutes. If you can't find anyone attending these functions, then your ancestors were probably not Quakers. Hope that this information helps everyone.....good luck! Angela Chapman Brigman ABrig2728@aol.com
