I have in my possession a Civil War era photo of John Fourquean Hawkins Jr. (16 Sep 1844-25 Dec 1935) and his wife Mattie E. (5 Jul 1848-24 Nov 1897). The photo was given to me many years ago by one of his descendants who was childless. His great grandfather had property adjoining the Elisha Whitten (my husband's line) land in Bedford Co. VA. At some point in time I must have come across a cemetery record as I have written the dates of birth and death on the back of the photo along with Shiloh Cemetery (which I am now assuming is in Bedford Co.).
