Hi Lynne, I found the following marriage bond entry online at the Bedford County, VA website which would seem to support your idea about Samuel Hensley: "Nov. 23, 1795; Samuel Hensley & Salley Owen, [daughter of] James and Elizabeth; James Hensley, Surety; Married by Jeremiah Hatcher, Nov. 29, 1795." I'm curious about one of the other heirs listed in the James Owen will. Do you know if Elizabeth Jones is the same person as the Betsey Owen who married Jesse Jones in Bedford County in 1797? Seems fairly likely to me. Do have any further information about Elizabeth's and Jesse's family? My wife is a Jones descendant and we are at a brick wall!
