I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer for me. In Hinshaw's "Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy," (for Virginia), there is a list of marriages performed in Bedford Co., Va. for the surname of WHITE. I had always assumed that this was a list of all the people in the county with that surname-- not just Quakers. My reasoning for this was that many of these names did not appear any where else in this book-- only on the marriage list. Does anyone know if records of individuals were included in this book-- if they were not either Quaker themselves, or married someone who was a Quaker? I have found names of people who were "removed" from the records because of marriage to someone outside of their faith. (The non-Quaker spouse's name was listed). Any help here would be appreciated.
