Seeking information on John Tankersley of Spotsylvania County Virginia who died in Columbia County Georgia in 1807. He is my ggg grandfather. Who was his spouse? Charles Wesley Tankersley states in his book(c. 1895) that John Tankersley was son of George Edward Tankersley who died in Bedford co. VA and that John's spouse was Susan Brooks but I cannot verify yet. I have info on many of his descendants from GA, AL, and presumably points west.
