    3. Hello, Bedford Co. subscribers. My name is Pam Kuester, and I'm new on this list, as of yesterday, July 8. I need your help, please, for I have seen in DAR records and heard it mentioned in family records that my ancestor, Matthew Talbot, Sr., b. 1699 England, who resided in Bedford Co., VA until his death in 1758, was "the Colonel of the Bedford County Militia" up until his death. I need to prove or disprove this, and I am seeking the help of those of you familiar with researching in Bedford County. I do know that the Talbot family was rather prominent in early Bedford, and that they were instrumental in the setting up of the courts and were also members of the Bedford Co. Burgesses, but I can't "prove" that either. Would there be records of this in the Bedford Co. courthouse? Please advise me as to how to go about this, and I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
