I am trying to locate Munford, Va. on a road map of Botetourt County, Va. Munford was a small community of the 1800 that does not exist today. It was located on State Hwy. 614 from 2 to 3 miles down the mountain from the Peaks of Otter toward Arcadia, Va. My relatives lived there, or in that immediate area, and I am trying to locate the Old Markham Cemetery on what was the Home Place of Jesse E. Markham, who died in 1900. This place was bought by his son J. Solomon Markham who died in 1914, and from here I do not know who got the property, but it is near where Munford, VA. use to be. Melvin Markham is in the process of helping me with this problem, since he lived in Monford as a boy, but he is in Goode, Virginia, and not near enough to measure this for me. I would like to know the exact mileage from the Blue ridge Parkway to where Munford use to be. I know there must be someone in Bedford County that is very familiar with this area.
