Roanoke Times , Sunday, May 30, 1999 May Maggie Scott Spradlin 91, of Moneta, died Friday, May 28, 1999 at Burrell Nursing Center in Roanoke. she was born in Bedford County on Oct. 18, 1907, a daughter of the late william Henry Scott and Lilly Bowling Scott. she was the widow of William Alex Spradlin. she was a retired employee of Bedford County Nursing Home and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Rachel s. Carter and her husband, Orion of Moneta; two brothers, Johnny E. Scott, Blue Ridge and Walter H. Scott, Roanoke; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and 12 great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Mountain View Cemetery, Tuesday, June 1, 1999 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Lagerveld officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Carder-Tharp Funeral HOme and Crematory, Bedford (586-3443).
