I have heard that a JAMES NOWLIN was on the Bedford Co.,Va tax of 1784. His wife's name was Ursula and they had 9 children: RICHARD,b.abt. 1773/SARAH (Sally),abt.1776/ JOHN, b. abt 1776(maybe Halifax Co?/CONAH,abt1790/RHODA NOWLIN,b. abt.1799/FRANCIS,b.abt 1778/ BRIDGET (Biddy),b.abt.1784/ SAAMUEL NOWLIN, abt. 1786. Has anyone run across this family in Bedford Co. while doing research? I will look forward to hearing from another you, Jane Nolen Matherly
