Dear Group: I am searching for more information concerning Quaker families from Bedford (and/or Campbell) County associated with the South River Monthly Meeting and/or the Goose Creek (or New Bedford) Monthly Meeting. I have recently discovered that my 4th great grandfather, Nathan H. Chapman (1761-1829) may have been a Quaker. Four of the seven children are listed under the marriage sections of Bedford and Campbell Counties in Hinshaw's Vol. 6. Not only are most of his children listed but also his nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors are also listed (surnames in this group include: Bowles/Coleman/Board/Dent/Mitchell/Jordan/Wright/Mays(Mayse)/James/ Cooksey/Dowdy/Taylor/Evans/Nimmo(Nemo)/Lancaster/Wills/Basham). Does anyone know where the original records of the above Quaker meetings are kept? Does anyone recognize any of the names listed above? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
