Hi, I think John has an interesting question.........I, for one, have no written proof other than family lore and the wills that are published. I descend from the Henry Whiteley--Ellen Hobbs family in Ohio County, KY. The Whiteleys intermarried with the Haynes family in Bedford Co. in the 1700s. Henry Haynes and Barsheba Hampton had a daughter, Bathsheba, who m. John Whiteley of Bedford. Since it seems some of the most common names back then were John and Henry, that proves not much, but Bathsheba is not that common and would tend to run in families. Sally
