Dear fellow roots searchers, I am researching the Wood family of Bedford, Va. I am stuck on John and Nelly or Milly parents of Richard "Dickey" Wood(married Rachel Cockram) of Franklin and Patrick counties, Va. Who were John's parents and where did they come from? Who was Nelly? Rachel was the daughter of Edward Cockram, Sr. I am not certain where Edward Cockram came from either. Some researchers give Stephen Wood and Ann Johnson as parents of John Wood. They did have a John Wood but he moved to TN and left a will. I do not believe he is my John. Can anyone help. I am looking at references on Henry Wood because according to other's research, John's first son was Henry and Richard's first son was Henry. Could this have been John's father's name and Richard's grandfather? Any Henry Wood(s) in Bedford in early to mid 1700's? Judy
