I'm sorry......it's the computer......not me. My William C. may have been married to a Stratton. As far as we know he only had one son, Wm Jr. and several daus., one of whom was married to my James Kasey of Bedford. Thanks. Sally Kasey Emily **************It's Tax Time! Do you know if George Cannady has any ties to William Cannaday/Keneday/Kennedy of the Bedford area in the 1770s? He was in Botetourt Co in 1770, died in Franklin Co VA in 1799, I think. To Whom It May Concern: When I have done research and have been looking for marriage records, I have found a wealth of information in Botetourt County. Some of the records for my family did not seem to be available until I searched the records for Botetourt. I was able to find them because of the "Marriage Index" at the Library of Virginia. **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms, and advice on AOL Money & Finance. Probably more old news. Much about the Campbells on GenForum. Don't ask me if any of it is proven. Not my line. Moses is mentioned many times on other postings there. Edwin http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?Moses::campbell::18178.html
Thank you for your timeEdwin i haven`t seen some of this. Nancy _____________________________________________________________ Need cash? Click to get a loan. http://thirdpartyoffers.netzero.net/TGL2221/fc/Ioyw6i4tF7FQ9FichyThKzVOMrwB4n0BA2ME50aYePlc0B3cCt7Vkn/

From: "Edwin \"Tex\" Irvin" < edwirvin@yahoo.com> Subject: [VABEDFOR] Thomas Overstreet Date: Sun, 9 Mar 2008 07:40:25 -0700 (PDT) Someone asked about Thomas Overstreet. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/g/o/d/Bryan-S-Godfrey/FILE/0098page.html --------------------------- Thank you for this information! It IS excellent (though I see it is no longer available). I have been entering the information into my database and have a question about some of the children listed for John Overstreet (born abt 1780, son of Thomas) and Peggy Cannady. Children: Martha Overstreet, born abt 1835 Bedford County, m. Stephen C. Hurt John Wiley Overstreet, born abt 1836 Bedford County, m. Elizabeth Bailey Rice Jesse A. Overstreet, born abt 1826 Bedford County. Their birthdates seem too late for their mother Peggy, (no birthdate given in this database, but I have she was born 01 Jan 1870). Is there a mistake about her birth date, or a typo error about the birth dates of the children? Or were these the children from another Overstreet? Beverly
To Nancy: This is an old posting on GenForum. http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?Bedford::arthur::1699.html No idea if this is proven or not. Not my line. Probably old news. Edwin

Bobby, not that I see.
Agreed, Edwin! I use this website frequently. Don't miss the photo albums. Note the 1790 Wilkes NC Census. Many of those folks moved west or north later. Seth Colwell, for instance, moved to Montgomery/Giles Co., VA and you can find the land record of 1798 at the Library of Virginia's website. Probably old news. Great website--- http://www.newrivernotes.com/nrv.htm Much history here. Many surnames. Click around. Try the "E-Books Page. Much about old Virginia and North Carolina, and the French and Indian and Rev. Wars. Heads of Household, Tax lists, etc. No indexes, though. Some of these publications cost serious money if you had to buy them. And all for free. But, as usual, take some of them with a grain of salt. Many flaws. Edwin
