    2. I am searching for any information about William Allen who married Sarah Harper on November 11, 1782 in Bedford County. He later married Clarrisa Wells Pearson on February 20, 1812. He had 11 children all born in Bedford County. I am also interested in his son, William Allen who was born about 1785 and married Sarah Realey on September 1, 1807 also in Bedford County. Other children of William Allen, Sr.: Charles, Jeremiah, Nancy, Jane, Rachel, Milly, Sarah, Frances, and Mary - all born in Bedford County. ANY information on William Allen Sr., or William Allen, Jr. would be appreciated. I am trying to see if they fit in with my Allen family in Franklin County or with William Allen who married Susannah Smith in Franklin County. Mary Allen

    1. To All My Cousins and One Day Cousins
    2. Hi one and All, I am sorry for the long list of addresses, but thought it would be easier on me if I did it all at once. I am in the early stages of moving. Because I don't know when I will have to pack up my computer and when I will be able to get on-line again, I would like to get the snail mail addresses, phone numbers and surnames with everyone I correspond with. I realize that some of us haven't found that connetion yet, but we will someday. To the lists, I am making sure I cover everybody, since so far I am just about related to the whole counties. Apologies to anyone who is getting this letter who doesn't need it. I want to thank everyone who has ever helped me with my budding genealogy addiction. I have trully appreciated everything you all have done. I am supplying a list of all of my known surnames. Also, if I owe anyone anything, please remind me,so I can get it to you. 1. Ann Mildred English
    2. Beverly Martin
    3. I am looking for information on Ann Mildred English, b. CA 1841, in Pittsylvania County, VA, daughter of Henry English (son of George Lewis English and Ann "Nancy" (Smith) English) and Martha Nichols, daughter of Elisha and Nancy (Payne) Nichols. Ann Mildred was not married. At the time of the 1850 Federal Census she lived with her parents in Pittsylvania County; at the time of the 1860 Federal Census, she was in Franklin County; and in 1870 she was part of the houseold of Sanford McBride and his wife, Mary McBride in Franklin County. In 1880 she was head of household, with her son, Robert English, in Staunton Magisterial District, Bedford County, Robert having been born CA 1878. After the 1880 census Ann Mildred evidently had a nervous breakdown and she went to the Bedford County Poor Farm and her son, Robert, was reared by others. What I want to know is how or where I can locate information about how long she was there, when she died, and any other information that might have been given to the authorities at the time she went to the poor farm. 2. Hi, The Library of VA has 2 copies of the book Genealogical Serendipity, v. 1, which you asked about. One copy is for in-library use and one circulates. You might want to see if your library could do an interlibrary loan or if the staff at the Library of VA could do a lookup for you. Check out their web site at http://leo.vsla.edu for their online catalog and loan policies. Edith <I found a reference that Joseph WHITE of Amelia County was noted in a book or periodical called "Genealogical Serendipity, V. l." I cannot find this book or periodical in any of our libraries. Does anyone have this in their collection? >
