`I would like some information on the following people from Bedford Co, `if anybody knows anything: `In the Bedford Co. marriage bonds, 115/18/16, James Cole and Eglentine `Leftwich, dau. of Littleberry, Jack H. Leftwich surety. `Does anyone know the children of this marriage, and who they `married? I am particularly interested in Finetta Cole, who may have `been their daughter. `Now, here's one where I'm just stabbing in the dark...I have an ancestor `from Bedford Co., Featherston Reese. I also see there were Featherstons `in Bedford Co., Richard Featherston married Silas Cole 11/20/1821, `Howell Featherston married Martha Daniel 12/27/1817. Anybody know `anything about the Bedford Co. Featherstons, and what connection they `may have had to the Reese family? `Thanks for any help: `Marilyn Reese ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. There were several post a few weeks back stating that Bedford County marriages were recorded in Hinshaw's ENCYLYPEDIA OF AMERICAN QUAKERS. There are a number of Bedford County marriages including non Quaker marriages listed and for some years it includes all marriages. However, not all Bedford County marriages are listed. Earl H. May

Norm, My great X 4 grandmother was Mary W. Crump (1775-?) She died in Franklin Co., VA and had been maried to Alexander Gray. Her father was Richard Crump (1711-1789) who was born in New Kent Co., VA and died in Bedford. Richard's father, Richard Crump (1685-1782) was from New Kent, and well as his father, Stephen Crump (1655-1700). Stephen's father, William Crump, was born in James City, VA in 1629 and died in New Kent Co. William's father Thomas Crump was born in England in 1603, immigrated to America and was a Burgess from James Citie and later from Neck of Land. I assume that the Crump that you found in Bedford was Richard. I'm not sure where all of his siblings went (I have not worked very hard on this line), but as you can see, there was a strong contingency of Crumps in New Kent. Hope this sheds some light! Leigh Blount
Can anyone provide me information about the Crump families of Elbert and Franklin Counties during the1800s? I have them sprinkled through my notes in three or four surnames; not as direct line ancestors but marrying brothers and sisters; witnessing deedsand wills, purchasing at estate sales, etc.. I came across one Crump in Bedford County VA; did the Crumps come from there? Norm Ricker normhr@ij.net
