K, 2nd VA National Guard. There is also information of William KENNEDY of Bluefield; a trunk of his belongings is in possession of the author of the website, purchased at a flea market in Hillsville. I have nothing to do with this site, please don't ask any questions! I'm just passing on some of the names from articles there and the URL. http://www.erols.com/hyattg/index.htm Sonya in Maine Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

    1. [VABEDFOR-L] HOGAN
    2. If any of you Hogan researchers can help me out I would be most grateful. 1759 Tax List for Fauquier County lists William Banester residing with Daniel HOGAN William Banister of Bedford April 26, 1763 William Banister married Anne Haile I believe William's first wife was MARY HOGAN... and that his children (Isaac, James and Judith Banister) were children of Mary Hogan... It would appear that the William living with Daniel is likely the William who later shows up in Bedford and marries Anne Haile... If I am correct in what I believe... then Mary Hogan was the dau.? of John Hogan who married Margaret BANISTER and their possible children are Mary, Daniel, John and Charles Hogan. This Mary may be the Mary who married William BANISTER and would appear that William was perhaps living with his bro. in-law ... I may be/likely have some errors here... much is still in the assumed stages... CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT with the Hogans and BANISTER connections... PLEASE. I THINK it looks something like this: Email pls to vhull@aol.com Descendants of John Hogan 1 John Hogan b: Abt. 1710 d: Abt. 1770 in Fauquier VA .. +Margaret Banister b: 1700 d: 1767 in Fauquier Va ....... 2 Mary Hogan b: Abt. 1733 ........... +William (of Bedford) Banister b: Bef. 1722 in of Russell Parish, Bedford Co. Are Abram and Isaac related. Who are their siblings? Lydia had several children after Abram's death, my grandfather for one, I would like to know if she remarried. Lydia's father is William St.Clair and Elizabeth Atkinson. I have plenty of info on the St.Clairs but not much on the Gross family or their children. Hope someone can help me.. Thanks.

    1. [VABEDFOR-L] Fuqua Family
    2. Thomas Markham
    3. I am decedent of Sally Fuqua Lowry, who lived a Center Point, Bedford County, VA. My Grandmother was Bessie Lowry Markham, wife of Walter A. Markham of Lowry, Bedford County, VA. Bessie's Mother was Sally Fuqua Lowry. Sally's Brother was George Whitfield Fuqua, and they are a direct descendent of Thomas Fuqua, who was a son of Ralph Fuqua. Ralph Fuqua settled in Bedford County in the early 1700's. The records show that he purchased property from William Callaway on November 22, 1756. This was the beginning of ownership of the land where much of the City of Bedford is now located. Ralph Fuqua had seven sons and five daughters., and it was from some of these that the Bedford County Family descended. Joshua Fuqua, Ralph's youngest son, gave the land for the courthouse which was built in 1782. I am looking for someone to help me with my Fuqua Line. I understand that there has been several who have worked on this line in the past. If anyone is willing, please let me know. I have been working on the Markham, Lee, and Ashley-Tingen Lines for the past twenty years. I have a summer home on Markham's Lake near Lowry, and live in Florida during most of the year. Thomas A. Markham

    1. [VABEDFOR-L] Sally REESE
    2. Mark & Sherry Finchum
    3. We are looking for our Sally REESE from Bedford Co., VA. Does anyone recognize any of these folks below. I am including only the children and their children. Thanks, -Sherry Sally REESE Sally is listed in the 1820 and 1830 Bedford Co., VA. This puts her birthdate between 1760-1770. 1788 Slowman REES to Sally G. REESE Bill of Sale of personal property. Deed Book #8, pg 83. (This is probably not our Sally considering the date.) 1820 Bedford Co., VA lists Sally REESE 2 Males 10-16, 1 Male 16-26 (3 Farmers), 1 Female 10-16, 2 Females 16-26, and 1 Female 45-Older. William and Robert W. are already married. 1820 Bedford Co., VA also lists: Robert, and Stephen REES no twp listed, and William B. REESE. 1830 Bedford Co., VA Census lists: David B. #152, Featherstone #146, James R.#132, Joseph T. #146, Sally #163, and William #139. REECE, William twp - Bethel, Bedford Co., VA 1830 Lincoln Co., TN Census lists REESE: Jacob #212 with Males 1 under 5, 1 30-40 and Females 1 under 5 and 1 20-30. John #212, with Males 1 10-15, 2 20-30, and 1 50-60 and Females 1 10-15 and 1 50-60. Littleberry #201 with Males 1 20-30 and Females 1 20-30. Polly #207 with 1 Male 5-10 1 10-15 and Females 1 50-60. 1840 Bedford Co., VA Census lists: David B. #302 Northern, Joseph T. #302, Northern, and William W. #264, Southern. The children of Sally REESE receive land from Littleberry LEFTWICH in his will that includes her heirs dated 30 May 1823 and rec 23 Jun 1823 (Will Book 5, pg 419 Bedford Co., VA) I have thoroughly researched the LEFTWICH line, and find no connection to our Sally. Perhaps she was a sister to one of Littleberry LEFTWICH's wives probably Frances HOPKINS considering the dates. Deed Book 22, pg 368 14 May 1831 lists Sally and all the children's names as they are selling the land that they were given in the will of Littleberry LEFTWICH. I have yet to prove any connection of Sally to Littleberry or his family. It lists the men's (her sons) names and the first names of the men's wives. Wilkerson, Parthenia and Flemin are listed alone. Parthenia is listed as head of household in the 1850 Census of Lincoln Co., TN with some children, perhaps nieces and nephews. It does list that the children were born in TN. Some additional research must be done on the daughters (Ann, Martha, and Nancy) who did not move to Lincoln County, TN as the sons did. Perhaps they stayed in Bedford Co., VA and there may be a link to their father is some document there. There is a Sarah REESE d 31 Dec 1851 aged 89 years (which would mean born abt. 1762 on a tombstone in Bedford Co., TN. I believe this could be her. She seems a little bit too old. Listed in the same cemetery is a Granville B. REESE b 1819 d 1850. Children of (---) REES and Sally (---) were as follows: + 2 i William2 REES [1624], born abt 1797. 3. I had a letter from an elderly relative living in Campbell Co. VA. In it she states that "my grandparents (BLANKENSHIP) and Aunt Rose were buried in a private grave cemetery in Bedford Co, where I cannot locate." As this is one of my brick walls, I would love to find them! I'm not sure what the grandparent's first names are, maybe John Peter and Jemima Perdue Blankenship. Does anyone know of a private cemetery in Bedford with Blankenship's in it?
