Does anyone have information on Shelton Eidson born 1753 in Bedford County died Morgan Co. GA 1-8-1834. We need a document that will prove he had a son named Boyce born in 1789 Bedford County VA or Morgan Co. Georgia no sure. We are trying to prove a DAR application and Shelton did not leave a will. I have subscribed to Everton's Genealogical Helper for many years. It made a change for several years; however, it is now back to the original format. It is still an excellent source for genealogical research. Everton, also, has an Online Research Service. Call 800-443-6325 or 435-752-6022 for more information. I think the magazine is $27.00 for 1 year/6 issues. If you want the online service the cost is $48.00 for the total package ( magazine and online service). The best to you in your research, [email protected]

The schedule of payments, to Bedford Co militia, and to citizens providing supplies/services, in the early days of the French and Indian War, and which was annexed to the 1758, authorizing legislation, is now posted at http://vagenweb.org/hening/vol07-10.htm#bedford Regards, Freddie S.

Hi, I suggest you contact your Main county branch public library or nearest genealogy library and see if they have the copies of the magazine edition you are looking for. I think the Internet may have put them out of business. At one time the Everton's magazine was a very good source of others searching the same surname you where. Happy Hunting, Kathie Everton's Family History Company Out of Business One of the oldest companies in the genealogy business has closed its doors. The owner of Everton's Family History Company, publisher of Everton's FamilyHistory Magazine (formerly Everton's Genealogical Helper), has ceased operations and donated the company's assets to the city of Logan, Utah. These assets include a very substantial genealogical library, the very popular Handybook for Genealogists, the online Everton's Family History Network and their 57-year-old genealogy magazine. When I learn what the plans are for current Everton subscribers, I'll let you know. Friday July 9, 2004 | In a message dated 9/29/2006 10:24:02 P.M. Everton's has been around for a long time. They used to put out a magazine monthly, but not sure if they do or not. They were one of the first to give genealogical information.

I want to apologize for my rash e-mail. I did not scroll down far enough. It looked like only a sales tool, and I get too many junk e-mails of that genre. I just viewed it and thoroughly enjoyed it and found it informative and it didn't cost me a penny. That part I didn't find offensive and was photos I most likely wouldn't have seen otherwise with me being so far away. If you don't want to view it then fine, if you do then you can, and if you want to buy it you can. I appreciate the ability to decide and have chances to see it for free. why grumble!!!!!! You don't have to purchase it- nor do you have to view it. It was an offer. Let it go folks and don't make it so some of us can't make a decision on our own nor deny us who are far away the chance of seeing something for free. Thanks! Dear List - I am a long time genealogist and as far as I am concerned, anything that brings history and geography to life is good for genealogy. I think in this case the gentleman is not out of line.
