Can someone tell me whether any birth records from the 1810 period for Augusta County exist? I have been trying for nearly two years to find the parents of Charles McClung, b. abt. 1810, married Sarah Gabbart in 1834. They had three children in Augusta County before relocating to Harrison County, VA/WV where they appear in the 1840 census records. Charles died in Harrison County in 1868 at the age of 58. Parents names were listed as "unknown." We were thinking that it have been possible that his parents died and he was brought up by someone else. We have looked everywhere we know to look and CANNOT find his parents names. We have exhausted pretty much of all available resources and still no names for his parents. Is there anyone on this list that can help me???? This has been a HUGE brick wall and I know that someone out there has to know the answer that we are looking for. Anita McClung Fayette County, WV
