I'm looking for Valentine Jones. He was born in Augusta Co about 1760, enlisted in the militia in 1777 and served under Capt. James Bell. His brother Berryman substituted for Valentine in the latter part of the war. Both brothers moved to Greenbrier Co in the 1780's. Valentine and Berryman's father may be John Jones, although I don't know if he is the Reverend John Jones referenced in parish records. Valentine may also related to Gabriel Jones, who is very prominent in Augusta Co court records. If anyone knows anything about the Joneses of Augusta County, please contact me. Thank you, Kathy Jones-Kristof
