Anita, all of the counties do not have records prior to 1863, only the ones who were already Virginia counties, as near as I can tell. My Boone County, VA (WV) ancestors are found in both Kanawha and Giles County, VA records as well as Logan, since Boone was made up of these counties before leaving VA. As you know, Boone, Kanawha and Logan are now in WV, but Giles remains a Virginia County. Boone even gave a little bit to Lincoln County, WV. Ah,these wonderful, drive-us-crazy Virginia Counties!
