Sharon, Yes, it is like "so where do I look?" Fayette County in what is now West Virginia was formed nearly 60 years before WV became a state. And although it was here when it was still Virginia, it too was a part of what is now Logan Greenbrier, Giles and Kanawha Counties. Even up into the 1900s, neither Fayette County nor Nicholas County could decide where to "draw the line." So, there again, where do you look for records? BOTH PLACES! Thanks, Anita
