As I understand it, the Fairfax claims took a considerable portion of Frederick County and some land was taken from Augusta to make up for that loss. This also affected Rockingham County. I can't explain exactly what was gained or lost but possibly someone has the details available. Joist Hite and some others were denied parts of their previous grants by Fairfax which caused some land purchasers to lose title to their lands.
