Looking for connections between McNees and McCormick lines in Va./Pa./Ky. Here is part of what I have: >Wm. McNees b. c1742, in Augusta Co., Va. 1760's, md. to Jane McCormick c1771, to Westmoreland Co., Pa. c1774, d. 1805 in Butler Co., Pa. >Wm.'s brother John McNees b. c1740, in Augusta Co., Va. 1770's, in Hampshire/Hardy Co., Va./WVA 1780's, to Bourbon Co., Ky. 1791, d. Harrison Co., Ky. 1804. John's daughter, Mary Ann, md. James McCormick 1792 in Bourbon Co., Ky. James McCormick was s/o John McCormick b. c1754 who came to Bourbon Co. 1795 from Hardy Co., Va/WVA. The thinking is that this John McCormick could have been sister of Jane McCormick who md. Wm. McNees. >Both Wm. and John were in Capt. Benjamin Harrison's Company. >Their sister Rosanna, was wife of John McCormick who died 1779 in Westmoreland Co., Pa. She remarried to Adam Stott and migrated to Bourbon Co., Ky. by 1794. Don't know how this John McCormick fits into McCormick line. So, my questions include: >Where were these McNees' before Augusta Co., Va. Were these McCormicks with them? >Were they related to Isaiah McNees family that came from Lancaster Co., Pa. to Lunenburg/Charlotte Co., Va.? >Has anyone identified other connections between these McNees and McCormick families? >Any ideas on either of the aforementioned John McCormicks? I am trying to trace my Wm. McCormick line from Ky. back into Pa. and Va. Wm. McCormick b. c1755 in Va., md. Maria Cary Eggleston (she was d/o John Eggleston from Hanover/Amelia Co. Va.), migrated to Pa. where son John was born 1788, then to central Ky. where he and Maria were killed by Indians c1793. Son, John moved on to Bracken Co., Ky. Wm. and Maria supposedly had several children...the only other one identified is Hannah who md. Wm. Rodgers 1796 in Clark Co., Ky. My Wm. certainly fits age wise and location wise with John McCormick b. 1754 and Jane McCormick who md. Wm. McNees. Any clues on this McNees and McCormick puzzle would be most welcomed.
