Mickey, There was a Adam and there was a Hugh Caperton the sons of John Caperton and Polly Thompson. You have Hugh Adam Caperton, I guess we are talking about the same people. So if we are talking about the same family then Hugh was born ca 1751 and in Augusta Co, Va. Adam was born ca 1753 Augusta Co, Va. I don't know which Thompson line is connected to this Caperton line. I have two Thompson lines from Augusta County. Adam did die in 1782 at Estill's Station in Madison Co, Ky. Adam is on list of tithables in the Botetourt Co, Va records in 1773 and did marry Elizabeth Miller. He was appointed deputy sheriff Greenbrier County Nov 1780. I find no evidence that they were in N.C., I have all children born in Va. At the dates you gave for children's birth they are still in Va and go to Ky. Where did you get the source they were in N.C.? I would need to research this data where I could also place them in N.C., but I haven't found that information. Would love to share. Gay Nix
