    3. Well I didn't write that and wouldn't. That was in another email that I quoted. But guess that is an example of getting things wrong I guess. The old - If it is written it must be true. If you go back you will see that I wrote that I had some proof that several of my ancestors joined on a combined record. Combined in that there were 3 soldiers of the same name within a 2 county area and the information was just treated as one soldier for the purposes of joining the DAR. My current day cousins and I spent a long long time sorting this out and I intended on this as a supplemental for my mom. But she deceased before it was ready so I wrote to the DAR saying I have documentation of interest. It took just over a year for DAR to answer and I simply assumed they were not interested in correcting anything. Anyway attributing this quote to me is very wrong. My mom was the registrar of a DAR Chapter and I know they never "accept just about anything". My comments were directed at correcting existing records.
