He died in Rockbridge County in July 1816. He was married to Martha ?? in 1775 in Augusta, Virginia. They had several children that were all born in the Augusta/Rockbridge County Virginia area: Rebecca, Hugh J, Nancy, Jane, Barbary, Robert, James E., and Elizabeth. His parents were Robert Reed (b: 1720 Northern Ireland d: Feb 1794 m:1752) and Barbara Stevenson (b: 1735 in PA d: 1800) and Alexander was either born in Ireland or possibly in Rockbridge County. Both of his parents also died in Augusta County. If you have any info on any of them it would be appreciated. Michael Reed
