William TANKERSLEY b. 1811, Rockbridge Co, VA m. Susan STAUNTON/STANTON b. 1816 in VA. They were in Rockingham County VA before the birth of their first child. They were Union supporters and abolitionists and lost all in the burning of the Shenandoah Valley in 1864 and moved to Clinton County, Indiana. Susan's parents were supposedly Clifford and Susan STAUNTON/STANTON. I am especially looking for: Information on this STAUNTON/STANTON family. I have been unable to make any connection.
