    3. Hi Listers and warm Thanksgiving greetings! I would LOVE to have my great great grandfather William H. McCausland and his brother John B. McCausland of Roanoke, Fayette and the Boone and Howard counties' areas. They came to Missouri from Virginia right before and right after the Civil War, John following William after serving under Stonewall Jackson. William settled in Rocheport first and later in Roanoke, where he would live the rest of his quiet half century of life as a carpenter. John, on the other hand, moved from Roanoke to Higbee to Fayette, always involved in social circles and well-known by many in the surrounding counties. He was a businessman builder and married into the established Snell family. These two men were orphaned as young children in Virginia, along with possibly 10 to 11 siblings. It's this part of their lives that I want to talk to them about, since I have been unable to accurately determine their true parents' names or any siblings' names. I know so much about how their lives ended; I want them to tell me how their lives began and about their mother and father. I would give anything for that chance! With it being harder than ever to get everyone together, there will be special family gatherings from this evening (Wed) all the way through Sunday. If you can find a little time, please tell us which of your ancestors (pertaining to this list's interest) you'd like to be able to visit with during your celebration. Let us know what things you'd like to discuss with this ancestor and why. It would be wise to change the subject line before sending your information.
