we are looking into the possibility that our John Higgins of Tennessee's wife Elizabeth was a Delaney. there is mention of a Delaney family who left PA, settled in Augusta Co., VA, then moved on to Greene Co., North Carolina. the Higgins family is said to have come from the Carolina's to Tennessee. a Philomon Higgins took oath for the will of an early Delaney man, and Philomon/Philemon is a traditional family name in our Higgins line. what little we know about John and Elizabeth; John Higgins b. 22 Dec 1776 TN d. 20 May 1840 Cape Girardeau, MO m. 1801/1802 TN?
