John, FYI -- These same Census Images are now available as part of family tree maker's genealogylibrary.com site (which has a subscription fee -- I already have a subscription, so I don't recall the price). I went there last night and found images from the 1850 Virginia census for several of my ancestors, and was able to confirm a relationship I had only expected might be true. There is an index, and the images, if available, are accessible from the index.
