    1. [VAAUGUST-L] James Duvall Koiner
    2. >I wanted you all to see this. Waynesboro should have a plaque up somewhere for this ship and the man it was named for. The ship no longer exists but it stayed afloat for a long, long time. Here's the URL: http://metalab.unc.edu/hyperwar/USN/ships/DE/DE-331_Koiner.html Thanks, Lynn, I had found this but not the man. Anybody in the area know these people? Norma> -------------------- The following is the Koiner family lineage of James Duvall Koiner whom the ship was named after: Michael Keinadt and Margaret Diller George Michael Koiner and Susanna Hawpe Elizabeth Koiner and Jacob Coyner Jonathan Koiner and Jemima Fisher William Fisher Koiner and Barbara Jane Barger Warren Worth Koiner and Mae H. Hughes James Duvall Koiner James was born in Waynesboro, Virginia the son of Warren Worth Koiner (30 Mar 1879 - 22 Feb 1937) and Mae H. Hughes (3 May 1880 - 10 Apr 1974). Warren and Mae were married on November 25, 1906 and later divorced after four children: Warren was also born in Waynesboro and died in Beckley, WV. He was buried there in Sunset Memorial Park. His second wife was Lillian Sealey. Mae was born in Boone Co., WV the daughter of Ellis Hughes and Elizabeth Gilmore. She died in Fayetteville, WV and was buried in Beckley. Children: Henrietta Lee, Virginia Mae, James Duvall, and Louise. Many, many years ago I corresponded with James' sister, Henrietta. She married French Augustus Harper, Jr. on June 22, 1940 in Covington, Viriginia and they had no issue. She told me her family always thought a lot of their only brother James. Gary R.
