Seek additional information on ARCHIBALD REED/REID. He was born about 1802-1805, I believe in Rockbridge Co. I believe he was the son of Emmanuel Reed and Catherine (Dice/Theiss) Reed. (I cannot prove his parentage). Archibald was married to Margaret Firebaugh in Augusta Co. on Sept 14, 1826. His marriage bond was signed by himself and Emmanuel Reed. Archibald's children were: 1. Sarah Ann Reed b. Feb 17, 1837, d. Oct 6, 1914, Marr. Thomas Sensabaugh 7. Amanda Reed, b. Dec 6, 1839, d. Oct 15, 1842 8. William B. Reed. b. Abt 1842, d. ? Marr. Elizabeth ? I have a great amount of Reed/Reid/Reith information from the family in Rockbridge Co., from Franklin Co., Pa., from Berks Co., Penn. and from New York. These male members include Casper Reed, Philip Reed, Michael Reed Benjamin Reed Emmanuel Reed and William Reed. The original family name was Reith and they came from near Manheim Germany. The mother and 8 children arrived in New York in July of 1710. The father was named John George Reith and he died on board the ship Midfort while coming to America.
